On our dog walk a few days ago, I looked down the alley and saw a gorgeous fence line full of flowers. I started to walk the dogs down the alley to take a picture and as we turned into the alley Tasha stopped dead and hesitated. It didn’t even occur to me that she had probably been down that alley dozens of times under very different circumstances. We had a quick chat about that it was OK and that she was safe. She relaxed and walked with me down to the flowers. Some sibling hilarity ensued while the two dogs jockeyed for the best camera position \u2013 they both know when they are having their picture taken. They are a lot like little kids and will mug for the camera. They were hilarious.<\/p>\n

The alley photo op really reminded me how different Tasha\u2019s life is now. Sometimes she gives me a very proud look after she has done something brave and faced her fears. She gave me a great look after she pranced past the trash cans on the way out of the alley as if to say, “I don\u2019t need you anymore you lowly trash cans, now I eat my dinner out of a bowl.”<\/p>\n
