After 2 Goldilocks dates, Angel has found the home that is “just right”. She is a prime example of why we send dogs on dates. It is always good to make sure ALL the members (pets and people) of a potential family can adjust to the new addition. A big shout out to Dr May and the Arapaho Road Animal Clinic for boarding Angel between her dates, for helping assess her personality, and for finding her perfect match with one of their long time clients.
On one of her dates, Angel was a perfect match for the household toddler, but not for the family’s older dog that had a bad back. The older dog was not happy about Angel’s enthusiasm, but as you can see here, Puglsy is perfectly happy playing with the exuberant Angel.
Sometimes younger dogs breathe life into older dogs, and sometimes older dogs will not tolerate younger puppies. Puppies often need a person or another dog to teach them about boundries. It is important to make sure all the dogs and all the people in home can safely communicate their boundaries.
Here is link to a great Dogs Out Loud article about how to prepare to bring your new dog home and what to do when they get there. The article covers a lot of concepts that will help a new dog transition successfully.
We also have some great puppy training tips that include how to teach your puppy manners and how to address behavior problems.
There is the perfect match out there for every dog. We are very happy to see Angel matched with her forever family. A big thank you to everyone who helped her along the way!
