Two had a big day today. She took in a little post-surgery walk out in the sunshine with no squinting! Her eyes are looking really good.
After our walk outside, we let her have a run of the clinic. We wanted to see if she would choose to stay with us, if she would bolt for the doors, and what kind of recall she would have if we called her back.
First I let her sniff around. She wasn’t sure what she should do so she didn’t go very far at first. I called her next to me and said the usual, “Let’s go” and I started to walk around the clinic. To my surprise, she walked right next to me as if I had leashed her. She happily trotted around the clinic next to me and would turn when I turned and followed me everywhere.
Next I sat in the clinic office with Dr May. We just sat around chatting as Two explored the office’s floor length windows and then she ventured out into the clinic unsupervised. At one point we heard her scratching the full length glass front door. I went out to check on her and she trotted up and followed me back toward the office.
OK, here is the part where you have to pinkie swear not to tell Dr Perkins. This is our little secret. Swear?
Two resumed walking around the clinic again exploring. I heard an odd noise so I went up front to the lobby to see what she was doing. What a shocker – she was up on the lobby couch and she had a cushion in her mouth and was fixing the couch to her liking. I could not stop laughing. That is one of Dr P’s No No’s – no dogs on the waiting room couch and there she was on the couch and fluffing the pillows! When I stopped laughing and taking pictures of this egregious offense, I called her off of the couch and she hopped off and came right up to me. She is a hilarious little creature. Definitely her Momma’s daughter.
