Here is an update on our little rescue Mini.
General Disposition and Personality:
Her general disposition is that of a happy, easy going dog who loves to be with people. She is great around other dogs, non reactive to cats, and has been very easy to handle. No problems with her when the vets or the vets techs handle her. She has a great overall attitude. Mini is what Dr May calls “a perfectly lovely dog” which translates to a well balances, adorable, good tempered, companion dog and what we lovingly refer to as “a keeper”. She loves people and hanging out together.
Vet Check and health status:
Mini has a thumbs up prognosis. She is well on her way to becoming a perfectly healthy, fully adoptable, super adorable dog. Much like our alums Birdie, Jack, Frankie, and Cookie, little Mini had the respiratory street crud. We started to treat her respiratory symptoms and she is responding well and was released from isolation with a thumbs up. This week she had progressed enough have her spayed surgery. Hurray! In the next week or so, she will be ready for her heartworm treatment. After her treatment, she will need to rest and and have her activity restricted for about a month. After that, she will be a perfectly healthy happy girl.
What breed do you think Mini is?
Your guess is as good as any ones! Maybe part boxer, bulldog, dalmatian, spaniel, and insert your guess here. Whatever she is the combo = adorable sweetness. Dr May says that she is a “Asian Botany Spaniel”. Oh it’s a thing.
Is Mini ready for adoption?
In the next week or so Mini will be ready to go spend some time with a foster while she rests after her heartworm treatment, or she will be able to go to a forever home that promises to keep her confined and quiet for the month.
If you are interested in adopting her, but want to wait until after her heartworm treatment protocol is over – of course, that is an option.
Is Mini ready for visitors?
If think that you might be interested in adopting Mini and you would like to meet Mini – we can set a time for you to visit her at the vet clinic. Please just shoot us an email or give me a call and we can set up a meet and greet.
Can Mini go on a date?
Once Mini’s heartworm treatment is over, she can go on what we refer to as a “date” to see if she is a forever match for you and your family. You can read more about how that works on our adoption link.
How can you help Mini?
If you don’t want to adopt Mini, but you want to help her on her journey to a fabulous life in her forever home, there are several ways you can help:
- Share her link with your network of friends and family so that she can have exposure to her potential forever family. You never know who is looking for a dog until you ask. This is how we find our dogs fabulous homes. We don’t attend adoption events so we don’t have a way to get the dogs out there without you!
- Facebook, email, twitter – whatever you do – please share her!
- Foster Mini while she is looking for her forever home.
- Want to help with her medical bills or her general expenses? Make a donation using our pay pal link on the right hand side of our webpage, or email or call the vet clinic and let us know you would like to make a donation directly to her bill at the vet clinic. You can read about how your donations work for her here on our give page.
- Spread a message that promotes responsible dog ownership, including the responsibly of a spay and neuter culture (as required by law) with your friends, neighbors, and throughout our city. We can not stop the endless stream of unwanted homeless animals without you!
Let’s find Mini a great new life. Thank you for all you do to help advocate for animals, and a special thanks from our sweet little Mini.
